Hundreds of thousands of spectators lined Fifth Avenue Sunday for the 49th annual Hispanic Day Parade, which celebrates the cultures and countries of Latin America.

Organizers say more than 10,000 people took part in the parade, which featured the music and costumes of each participating country.

The dancers, bands and floats made their way up Fifth Avenue from 44th Street to 67th Street.

NY1 Noticias reporter Juan Manuel Ben?tez, middleweight boxer Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin and Grammy Award-winning salsa singer Frankie Negron were on the Time Warner Cable float.

"I think it's really important that we go out there, celebrating the same culture but at the same time celebrating out differences within our own community," said Ben?tez.

"It's important that we all get a chance to shine and show our pride, not only as Latinos but also as New Yorkers," said Negron.

Time Warner Cable, NY1's parent company, is a parade sponsor.
