Drew Barrymore talks motherhood: 'I can't wait until I have my children'

Drew Barrymore gave some insight to her family dreams in a new interview.

The 37-year-old actress spoke to Haute Living in August about getting into the wine business, putting her acting career on hold and starting a family.

"I can't wait until I have my children," she told the magazine. "I love the idea that they don't have to do something that they have no interest in, that they can do something completely opposite if they want to."

"I will be so surprised if they don't want to do something involving food or wine or art, but I'll be OK with it," she added. "I just want to build fun, great things for my family."

Barrymore has not confirmed publicly that she is pregnant. However, the article does mention a recent trip a pregnant Barrymore took to Napa Valley with friends and that she abstained from drinking wine, choosing instead to live "vicariously through her girlfriends," according to the article.

Her pregnancy rumors began in February. The actress reportedly married Will Kopelman in June in Montecito, California.

Barrymore and Kopelman, a 34-year-old art consultant, got engaged in Sun Valley, Idaho, over the Christmas holiday season after dating since at least February of 2011.

Barrymore's last role was in February 2012 in the film "Big Miracle." The actress said she is taking a break from acting to pursue other interests.

"I'm more into directing and photography, so I'm trying to focus on that," she said. "To be quite honest, I'm happy in my own life. I don't need to play at being someone else right now."

"Acting is something I've done my whole life, but directing is great. I get to be in my own clothes and go home to my husband, and that seems really normal and fun and feels very creative," she added. "If I have a shot that I love and have total creativity without having to be sad, it's a nice balance."

She later said, "I want to do it all. I love film, but I also love wine, food and traveling. I would love to be a travel writer. I'd be so stoked."

The actress launched Barrymore Wines in 2011 with a Pinot Grigio that won a gold medal at the Le Challenge International du Vin in France. Barrymore also said was very involved with the wine-making process.

"We went to Italy, we went to our vineyard, our bottling plants, we tried a lot of different wines," she told the magazine. "I'm very leery of celebrity culture and I didn't want this to be something that was tacky in a 'Hey, I'm just throwing my name on this and putting it out there' kind of way."

Barrymore added that she is "still searching for my red [wine]."
